Edinburgh Elopement

REGINA & GREGORY

an edinburgh elopement story

There is something truly unique about elopements; the quiet intimacy of them. Regina and Gregory met whilst at university in Edinburgh, so it made perfect sense for them to tie-the-knot right here in the city with just a few of their closest friends and family. After an emotive ceremony at Edinburgh Lothian Chambers, the couple decided to explore Arthur's Seat. The sky was heavy and brooding, but there was nothing stopping Regina and Gregory making it to the very top of the hill.

In the end, the rain came down and the wind blew, and the scene got pretty muddy. But the second most beautiful thing about this elopement story (the first being R&G themselves!) was that everyone kept smiling through it all. They embraced the puddles, and made something wonderful out of it. I'm so excited to share this elopement with you guys now, I hope you love it as much as I do...

Kirknewton House Stables Wedding

Gillian & Ted

Kirknewton House Stables Wedding

Earlier in the summer, I captured the wedding of Gillian & Ted at Kirknewton House Stables - a stunning barn venue just outside of Edinburgh. This lovely duo couldn't have asked for better weather, as the sun shone for them all day! The girlies started their morning in luxury at a local B&B (A Room In The Counrty) before heading off to an outdoor garden ceremony that was filled with laughter, thanksgiving and even a tear or two.

I could go on forever about just how welcoming and warm both Gillian and Ted, and their friends and family are, and how relaxed and carefree this wedding was, but I hope the images speak for themselves.

As we're currently in the depths of winter, here's an indulgent moment in the sunshine with two of the nicest people I've ever met...

Pratis Farm Wedding

ALYS & BRIAN

PRATIS FARM WEDDING

There were many memorable aspects to this beautiful wedding day; the windswept seaside setting, the aptly autumnal colour scheme, the obvious closeness of family. But one thing that particularly sticks in my mind about this day was the light. From morning until late afternoon, the sky remained a sleepy, soft blanket throughout, and it was really quite magic.

Alys and Brian are a very special couple, brave and full of love (and smiles!) for each other. Capturing their wedding at Pratis Farm was such a privilege, and a day I won't forget. I'm so thrilled to share a little peak into it with you now...

Fife Home Farm Wedding

SHARNA & NEIL

Quirky farm wedding scotland

I've been desperate to share this home-grown farm wedding for quite some time now.

When Sharna & Neil told me about their plans for an organic, relaxed wedding at their family run tearoom, I knew I was in for something special. The day combined their joint love of animals and animation (they are both pretty awesome artists!), as well as a real appreciation for the comforts of home. Surrounded by horses, chickens, dogs and a turkey, their closest family and friends gathered for a beautiful rustic wedding that was such a pleasure to be part of. And the food was just as great!

I had a wonderful time with these two this summer and I'm thrilled to share this day with you now. It's one I'll never forget...
