French Destination Wedding

La Cheraille Wedding

Sylvie & Rufus

When I received an email earlier in the year asking if I’d be interested in photographing a wedding set in rural France, I was instantly excited. Sylvie & Rufus were planning an intimate wedding on the grounds of their home, a beautiful flower farm in Sonchamp, and wanted to capture the romance of the day. Being a creative couple, they imagined their wedding to be an experience, celebrating not just their love for one another, but for nature, food, and art. I was thrilled to be involved, and so in August when the big day came, I was on a plane bound for Paris.

The morning was quiet and relaxed, with guests slowly filling the grounds as the ceremony time approached. The location of the ceremony would be a ‘secret’ wild garden behind the couple’s house, only easily found if you knew where to look. After exchanging emotional vows to one another, the rest of the day was spent enjoying the sun and the spoils of the farm.

From start to finish, this wedding was personal and heartfelt, and I feel truly blessed to have been there to witness it.

Wedderburn Barns Wedding

Wedderburn Castle Barns Wedding

Ellen & Kevin

As I sit down to write this blog post, the snow is falling heavily past my window and the outdoor temperature reads a chilly -4 degrees celsius.  Tomorrow is the first day of Spring, but it would seem that winter isn't prepared to leave just yet, at least not without a fight. So, in an effort to combat the frosty forecast, I felt inspired to finally get back into the swing of showcasing some beautiful weddings, starting with this absolute charmer set in Duns, in the Scottish Borders.

Ellen & Kevin's wedding at Wedderburn Barns was rustic, hearty, and full of delicate elegance. Their day was as relaxed and love-filled as the couple themselves, and I felt truly blessed to be there to experience it with them. It was the kind of day that's so tenderly honest and sweet, I wasn't the only one gulping back a little lump in my throat on more than one occasion. I want to wish them both the very best for the future, come sunshine or... well, snow!

Here is just a few highlights from that special day at Wedderburn Barns...

Loch Coruisk Elopement

Loch Coruisk Elopement

Mallory & Ty

Back in September, I travelled the winding road from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye to capture the elopement of Mallory & Ty. They had come all the way from the US to say their vows, bringing with them their closest family & friends to witness the special moment. There is no doubt that Skye is beautiful from top to bottom, but there is one place in particular on that rural island that stole M & T's heart; Loch Coruisk.

Guarded mostly by the ocean, the sea loch is only accessible by boat (unless you are an incredibly brave hiker willing to make the climb over the sharp Cuillins!). It's an untouched, lunar landscape with breathtaking dramatic views at every turn, and it was the perfect place for an intimate, emotion filled elopement. There is so much I could say about this memorable, wonderful day, but I don't think my words would do it justice. Mallory & Ty are two souls I won't ever forget, and I'm so honoured to have been part of such a magic moment. This is just a flash into their story...

Edinburgh Engagement Session

Phyo & Baolong

Edinburgh Engagement Session

When this amazing couple contacted me all the way from Singapore, telling of their love of Scotland and their desire to capture their connection here, I was thrilled. Phyo and Baolong are two of the loveliest people I've ever met, and this shoot on a rather chilly day in Edinburgh gives me all the feels. Witnessing their honest, sweet care for each other was my absolute privilege, and to set it in the city I love was perfection.
